Diese Diplomarbeit widmet sich der Analyse des Bankwesens auf dem Gebiet der heutigen Slowakischen Republik in den Jahren 1939-1945. Das Einleitungskapitel definiert die Grundbegriffe und Aufgaben der Zentralbank. Im zweiten Kapitel werden kurz die Vorläufer der Slowakischen Nationalbank vorgestellt: von der privilegirten Oesterreichischen Nationalbank, dann die Österreich-Ungarische Bank bis zu der Entstehung der Nationalbank der Tschechoslowakei, werden behandelt. Auch die Wirtschaftslage der Slowakei, die slowakische Vertretung im Zentralbankwesen, der Anfang der Konzentration im Bankwesen der Slowakei und die Trennung der Tschechoslowakischen Nationalbank im Jahr 1939 werden aufgezeigt. Das Zentralteil der Arbeit ist die Entstehung der Slowakischen Nationalbank, ihre Aufgaben, Struktur und Tätigkeit der Slowakischen Nationalbank während des Zweiten Weltkriegs. In diesem Teil wird auch der Einfluss des Deutschen Reiches auf die Tätigkeit der Nationalbank und des Bankwesens in der Slowakei behandelt. Kurz wird die Wiederentstehung der Nationalbank der Tschechoslowakei dargestellt. Im letzten Teil der Diplomarbeit wird die Entwicklung des Zentralbankwesens im Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren zusammengefasst.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the banking industry on the territory of the Slovak Republic between the years 1939 – 1945. In the introductory chapter, the basic terms and functions of central banks are defined. At the beginning of the second chapter, the predecessors of the Slovak National Bank are briefly described: from the Priviliged Austria National-Bank through Austro-Hungarian Bank to the establishment of the National Bank of Czechoslovakia. In addition, the economic position of Slovakia is described here as well as the Slovak representation in the central bank, the rudiments of the bank concentration in Slovakia and division of the National Bank of Czechoslovakia up to 1939. The main focus of the diploma thesis is the establishment of the Slovak National Bank, its role, structure and pursuance at the time of the World War II. The influence of the German Reich on the national bank and banking industry in Slovakia is mentioned and the re-establishment of the National Bank of Czechoslovakia is briefly described. The diploma thesis is concluded by the description of the central banking development in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia which differed from the Slovak one.
