Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit den Themen Migration und Integration im österreichischen Spielfilm. Anhand der drei österreichischen Produktionen Deine Schönheit ist nichts wert, Kuma und Macondo wird in dieser Diplomarbeit analysiert, wie die Lebenswelten von MigrantInnen in Wien dargestellt werden. Als Werkzeuge für die Untersuchung dienen die Konzepte des cinéma du métissage von Georg Seeßlen, des interkulturellen Kinos von Laura Marks und des transnationalen Kinos von Hamid Naficy sowie die systematische Filmanalyse nach Helmut Korte.
Beleuchtet man die drei ausgewählten Werke genauer, kann man feststellen, dass sie gewisse Parallelen in der Darstellung von MigrantInnen und deren Lebenswelten aufweisen. So inszenieren alle drei Regisseure, die selbst Migrationshintergrund haben, Heimat als Verlusterfahrung. Das Leben von MigrantInnen wird als Balanceakt zwischen Inklusion und Exklusion bzw. zwischen traditionellen Werten und modernem Lebensstil dargestellt. Die Analyse der ausgewählten Filme beinhaltet u.a. sprachliche und räumliche Aspekte sowie die Themen Männlichkeit, Frauenrollen und Kleidung. Dabei liegt der Fokus der Arbeit stets auf den filmischen Darstellungsformen in Korrelation mit dem Inhalt und dem zeitgeschichtlichen, gesellschaftspolitischen Kontext.
Nicht zuletzt wird auch eine pädagogische Perspektive auf die ausgewählten Werke geliefert. Es wird dabei untersucht ob und in welcher Form sich die Filme für den Einsatz im Unterricht eignen.
Da es sich bei Migration und Integration im österreichischen Spielfilm um ein noch kaum erforschtes Gebiet handelt, versteht sich diese Diplomarbeit sowohl als einen der ersten Schritte als auch als Ausgang und Anstoß für zukünftige wissenschaftliche Arbeiten.

The present diploma thesis deals with the topics of migration and integration in the austrian fiction film. The author chose the three austrian film productions Deine Schönheit ist nichts wert, Kuma and Macondo in order to analyse how they portray the life and the world of migrants in Vienna. Based on the cinéma du métissage by Georg Seeßlen, the intercultural cinema by Laura Marks, the transnational cinema by Hamid Naficy and the systematic film analysis by Helmut Korte, the three films are analysed.
Examining the cinematic representation of the life and the world of migrants with more scrutiny, it becomes apparent that the three films have many parallels. All three film-directors have a migrant background and portray home as an experience of loss and the life of migrants as a balancing act between inclusion and exclusion and between traditional values and a modern lifestyle. The analysis includes linguistic and spatial aspects as well as the topics of masculinity, the role of women and clothing. The diploma thesis focuses on the cinematic representation of the topics in correlation with the content and the contemporary and sociopolitical context.
Last but not least, the diploma thesis provides a pedagogical perspective on the three chosen films and analyses how the films can be used in lesson.
As migration and integration in the austrian fiction film is a field, which has previously been hardly researched, the present diploma thesis is meant as a first step and an impetus for further research projects.
