The bearing area of a single-span girder composed of high-performance materials like ultrahigh performance concrete and carbon-fibre reinforced plastic was investigated in this master thesis. In addition to nonlinear finite element calculations and experimental investigations, the environmental impact of the building component was analysed. The investigation of the general feasibility of the building component as well as statements about load-bearing behaviour and failure mechanisms were of interest. All investigations refer to a specific test setup of a single-span girder with a fixed/sliding bearing under a concentrated load located close to the bearing area. The building component is composed of a concrete body, a carbon laminate running along the lower edge of the beam as well as a steel element (”steel implant”) in the bearing area out of stainless steel. The steel implant is characterised by an opening and can be easily attached and detached with a bolt. Epoxy resin mortar is used to glue the laminate into the implant. The form of the bearing area is based on the principle to adapt the geometry of the building component to the present principle stresses. Several beam versions were investigated, at which concrete (ultra-high performance concrete with/without fibres), the surface of the laminate (plain/sand-coated) as well as the form of the bearing area respectively the position of the implant (opening located at the upper edge/middle of the beam) varied. Regarding the nonlinear finite element calculations, the software ATENA of Červenka Consulting with an emphasis on concrete structures was consulted. Special diligence was placed on the definition of the material properties of the high-performance materials. According to the numerical results, the beam versions composed of ultra-high performance concrete with fibres failed due to a rupture of the laminate. In comparison, beam versions out of ultra-high performance concrete without fibres failed at a load of about half of the force of the beams with fibres. These beam versions failed due to a failure of the compression zone of the concrete body. Two pull-out test series of the steel implants with a glued in carbon laminate were executed. The second test-series includes optimisations due to the findings of the first test series, which mainly refer to the geometry of the steel implant. In particular, the respective accuracy and quality of the manufacturing using a waterjet-cutting production method was optimised. Several implant versions with variations regarding the number of teeth, bond length, opening width and teeth inclinations were investigated. Subsequently the test series of the beam versions was executed, at which the material properties of the applied concretes were determined as well. The nonlinear finite element calculations were calibrated due to these parameters. The feasibility of the beam versions was proven. Recommendations regarding optimisations to increase the applied load are outlined. The impact assessment of the environmental impact was executed in dependence on the thesis of Kinast, at which the production stage of the life cycle was considered. The beam composed of high-performance materials was compared to a conventionally reinforced concrete beam under the same maximum concentrated load of the numerical results. The assessment of the whole beam versions illustrates that the conventionally reinforced concrete beam shows overcharge in all considered impact categories.
