Abstract:
Normung in diesem Bereich.

The development process for the creation of the new Eurocode is in the final phase. This new part will discuss the subject of accessible glass constructions. Despite the increasing research in recent years on the structural use of glass in practice, there is still a lack of united approach of standardization in this topic. At this moment, only national standards or regulations are used in Europe for the calculation of glass constructions. The goal of this MA thesis is to help the reader understand the calculation approaches, requirements and specifications for the complex topic of accessible glass constructions. "Accessible glass constructions for maintain purposes" is one of the topics of the new Eurocode. It should be noted that this topic has a rather subordinate role in the current national standards. This work is based on the analysis of Austrian, German, British and Italian standards and their comparison. It gives an insight into all relevant aspects of these constructions. The basic reference are the Austrian (ÖNORM B 3716-Series) and German Norms (DIN 18008-Series), because in these standards the topic of accessible glass constructions has so far been most carefully processed. The chapter "Introduction" of this work discusses the different types of glazing, their structures and the rules that deal with the topic in a relevant way. Furthermore, in the course of the work, the considered themes will be the requirements of the products, their characteristics and execution of the mentioned. Finally ending with, determination and clarification of the calculation methods. The purpose of the work is to show how important a united approach on the topic of accessible glass constructions is, by compering of the various European designs.
