TierquarTier : eine mögliche neue Form zur zeitgemäßen Beherbergung von Tieren

Abstract

Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit einem zeitgemäßen Entwurf eines Tierheimes. Ausgehend von Fakten bezüglich Raum-, Licht-, Luft- und Bewegungsbedarf unterschiedlicher Tierarten wird vom Kleinen ins Große, von innen nach außen versucht, eine zeitgemäße Architektur für die Beherbergung von Tieren zu entwickeln. Dabei wird von Beginn an im dreidimensionalen Raum entwickelt, da die vertikale Bewegungsfreiheit der Tiere von Anfang an Teil der Konzeption war. Hintergrund ist zum einen die bevorstehende Schließung des Tierschutzhauses Wien in Vösendorf. Zum anderen wird in Frage gestellt, ob bestehende Tierheime den Bedürfnissen der Tiere ausreichend entsprechen oder ob nicht etwa neue Formen entwickelt werden können. Diese Auseinandersetzung erachtet die Verfasserin als sinnvoll, da die Notwendigkeit von Tierschutzhäusern nach wie vor vorhanden ist und auch in Zukunft bestehen bleiben wird. Im Sinne von immer strengeren Tierschutzgesetzen, aber auch und vor allem um Bedürfnissen von Tieren gerecht zu werden, ist eine fortwährende Befassung mit der Konzeption dieses Typus ebenso unerlässlich wie es im Bereich der Architektur für Menschen der Fall ist. Der Entwurf bezieht sich auf den Raum Wien Süd/West, da dort in naher Zukunft Bedarf für eine Tierunterkunft vorhanden sein wird.

The present thesis constitutes with a contemporary design of an animal shelter. Starting from facts about animal’s different needs of space, light, air and movement needs of, the attempt is made from the small to the large, from the inside to the outside, to develop a modern architecture for the accommodation of animals. From the outset, this is being developed in three-dimensional space, since the vertical freedom of movement was part of the concept from the outset. On the one hand, the background is the imminent closure of the animal shelter in Vösendorf in Vienna. On the other hand, it is questioned whether existing animal shelters adequately meet the needs of animals or whether new forms can be developed. This controversy is regarded as useful by the author, since the necessity of animal shelters is still present and will continue in the future. In the sense of ever-stricter animal welfare laws, but also, and above all, to meet the needs of animals, a continuing concern with the conception of this type is as indispensable as it is in the field of architecture for humans. The draft refers to the Vienna South / West region, as there will be a shortage in the future for an animal shelter.
