Disability as construction of fate. A contribution to the analysis of public representation of people with disabilities.
This article intends to analyse the historical and current media representation patterns of people with disabilities by using a multidimensional approach. Pictures are used to specify representations already described and enable a reference to the historical construction of disability. Concepts of discourse, myths and identity are used as frames for interpretation in the analysis of specific image documents of the early modern period up until today.
