Erlebnispädagogik ist im nationalen neuseeländischen Curriculum für “English-medium state schools”, ein integrativer Bestandteil, um soziale Kompetenzen und die Persönlichkeitsentwicklung der SchülerInnnen zu fördern. Der theoretische Abschnitt beinhaltet Konzepte, Methoden, Theorien und Modelle der Erlebnispädagogik, einen Überblick des neuseeländischen Curriculums und die daraus abgeleitete Schlussfolgerung der Relevanz von Erlebnispädagogik im österreichischen Schulsystem. Der empirische Abschnitt bezieht sich auf zwei erlebnispädagogische Projekte aus Neuseeland, die als Möglichkeiten aufgezeigt werden, wie Erlebnispädagogik im Schulsystem angewandt und durchgeführt werden kann. Das erste Projekt „Mana Wahine“ ist ein erlebnistherapeutisches Programm mit Schülerinnen, die Gefahr laufen, die Schule vorzeitig abzubrechen. Ich beschreibe meine persönlichen Beobachtungen des Projektes und gebe anhand einer Video-Inhaltsanalyse den Ablauf des Projektes wieder. Zwei qualitative ExpertInnen-Interviews legen dar, inwiefern sich heterogene und koedukative Programme unterscheiden. Das zweite Projekt „Te Puna Wanaka“, das ich gemeinsam mit einer Studienkollegin Lianne durchgeführt habe, wird im Rahmen dieser Arbeit mit Konzept, Planung, Durchführung und Evaluation, vorgestellt. Ich habe zwei Professoren und zwei StudentInnen interviewt, um deren Bedürfnisse und Ziele zu kennen, und aus deren Analyse mein erlebnispädagogisches Projekt entwickelt. Beide Projekte sollen einen Einblick geben, wie Erlebnispädagogik aufgrund vielfältiger Methoden in das österreichische Schulsystem integriert werden kann, um soziale Kompetenzen und Persönlichkeitsentwicklung zu fördern.

Outdoor education is a curricula based method, which applies to all English- medium state schools in New Zealand, to improve social skills and personal development of the students. The theoretical part contains concepts, methods, theories and models of outdoor education, an overview into the curriculum of New Zealand´s schools regarding outdoor education and also why it would be important to implement outdoor education in Austrian schools. The second part, the practical analysis, comprises the presentation of exemplary projects in New Zealand. The first programme „Mana Wahine“ is an adventure therapy programme with girls, who are close to drop out from school. I write about my observations of the project and through interviews I provide a view on how the girls have received the programme. I also made qualitative interviews with the professionals from Waipuna Trust regarding the differences of single sex- versus co-educational programmes. Further, I describe the second project „Te Puna Wanaka“ which I have implemented together with another student for the course “Special Topic” at CPIT. It gives an overview on an adventure education concept. The results of the qualitative interviews with the lecturers and students helped me to analyse the needs and aims which are the basic of my project. Both outdoor education programmes should provide an input on how outdoor education with it´s amount on methods could be included in the Austrian schools in order to enhance social learning and personal growth.
