Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Lebensthematik im sechsten Kapitel des Johannesevangeliums. Auch wenn das gesamte Johannesevangelium von diesem zentralen Thema geprägt ist, so kulminiert die Thematik im ausgewählten Kapitel, weshalb mein Interesse der Speisung der Fünftausend – eines der sieben Zeichen des Johannesevangeliums – und der Brotrede gilt, die Jesus nicht nur als den wahrhaftigen Sohn Gottes, den fleischgewordenen Logos ausweist, sondern Jesus in besonderer Weise als Lebensspender herausstellt. Die Frage nach dem Leben ist für jeden Menschen von enormer Relevanz; sie hat daher innerhalb der Theologie einen zentralen Stellenwert. In diesem Zusammenhang kommt den Begriffen Leben, Brot und Jesus in Joh 6 eine besondere Bedeutung zu. Um einen besseren Einblick zu bekommen, werden zu Beginn unterschiedliche Betrachtungsweisen zum Thema ‚Leben‘ und die Forschungsmethode erläutert. In weiterer Folge werden in der Aufbau des Kapitels und das Wortfeld „Leben“ (ζωή) untersucht. Anschließend erfolgt die Analyse der Rede Jesu, um die Zusammengehörigkeit der Offenbarungsrede mit der Lebensthematik herauszustellen. Auf dieser Basis erfolgt die Interpretation von Joh 6, die speziell den Lebensspender Jesus und die eucharistische Lektüre der Brotrede miteinander verbindet.

The study examines the subject of ‚life‘ in the sixth chapter of John. The theme of ‚life‘ is one of the main themes in this book and it also occupies a special position in sixth chapter of John. Therefor I have chosen the story of ‘Jesus feeds the five thousand’ – one of the seven miracles in John – and the speech ‚I am the bread of life’. This stories show us that Jesus is not only the Son of God, he is also the incarnate Logos. Jesus is life-giver – he is lifeThe question of life is very important for all of us and inevitable for theology. In this context, the concepts of life, bread and Jesus have a special significance. For a better insight the study shows different viewpoints on the subject ‚life‘ at the beginning. It also includes different meanings of life. Subsequently the research method follows. The paper analyzes the construction of the sixth chapter in a few steps. The study also includes an analysis of the word ζωή. The words ‚I am‘ by Jesus are brought into focus to show the connection between them and the topic of life more accurately.The conclusion of this work is the exegesis of the text in relation to the life issues with their own interpretation of experiments and scientific.
